Female genital mutilation (FGM) is a severe human rights violation that affects millions of girls and women worldwide. Although illegal in Ireland, some families still resort to sending their daughters abroad to undergo this harmful practice in their countries of origin. This act not only subjects girls to immense physical and psychological trauma but also violates Irish law and international human rights standards.
As part of our campaign to eradicate FGM, we must raise awareness within communities, ensuring they understand the legal, health, and ethical implications. Our goal is to protect every girl in Ireland, empowering communities to embrace change and safeguard the well-being of future generations.
